Thumbs

I'm trying to post these days but it's pretty hard because of all the work I have and the funny thing is it's all thumbnails. I haven't done a finished drawing in ages, all my art has been in the above form. It's actually much harder then i thought. Sort of like pre-editing.I'm also entering my last week of teaching, a bit of a transitional time right now.

Conte sketch

Here's a quick sketchbook sketch from my head. I'm pretty stressed right now, lots and lots of work coming up. It's all work I'm excited about about though. There's a number of things conspiring to make me feel stressed : work, my mom's still in the hospital, a 7 month old boy etc. etc.  The trip to Toronto is looming as well. I'm busy making mixed CDs and buying new clothes for the trip. I want to have some comfortable jeans and sneakers this summer. I always buy expensive leather shoes which fall apart in no time because I walk so much.

Alien Moon

Another old piece from 2000. I did mostly pen and ink then and would work obsessively to fill the paper with lines. I'm a bit more restrained now. I did this piece on illustartion board which I used for a while.

An Alien From An Old Comic

Here's an unfinished page from an unfinished science fiction comic. While I abandoned this comic a lot of the ideas sort of morphed into Robot Museum which I'm still working on and preparing for the day I have the time to do it.

Watching Miyazaki

A colour pencil doodle I did while watching Nausicaa. It's a bit stiff but I like it anyway.

Grass Traveler

What fun! I did a drawing today just for the joy of it and it felt great. It's hard to do this when you feel totally committed to a work but I think it's important to do work just for the joy of it.Take your pencil for a walk.
